ATLANTIS Hybrid English Communication II Standard
ATLANTIS Hybrid English Communication III Standard was submitted to the Ministry of Education in April, 2017. Both follow similar principles.
The amount of text usually increases by only 10 to 20 words from lesson to lesson. Thus, the students can take small steps towards improving their reading skills. And since the number of words always goes up, the students can feel a sense of accomplishment.
Each part of the text has two or three comprehension questions. Additional comprehension questions can be found in the teachers’ manual and student workbook. This will require less preparation time from the teacher.
For students who need help, there is Japanese translation of the grammar sample sentences and listening questions. However, the translation is separated from the English sentences. This gives students who want to focus on English a chance to do so.
In this final step of each lesson, there is a wide variety of exercises, such as Q and A, matching, speaking, and writing. The students can express themselves while naturally using the grammar points. These activities are also great to do with the ALT.
